Over the course of more than a century, Tessitura Fratelli Giussani has helped to write an essential chapter in the history of the fabric supply chain, reliably serving public institutions, prestigious brands, and new international markets. A growth that has never been a point of arrival, but rather a milestone and a new starting point.
Our production of high-quality fabrics continues today with the same pioneering spirit of the founder: to work with competence and passion to offer fabrics of Italian quality, recognisable for their performance, aesthetics and durability.
Over a century of Italian fabric excellence
Founded in the heart of Brianza in 1924, Tessitura Fratelli Giussani is the emblem of an Italian fabric mill that has expanded and innovated over time while maintaining a firm and deep bond with its identity. From processing yarns with a few shuttle looms to the current integrated vertical production, the technological and entrepreneurial evolution that has accompanied us has always focused on the highest quality, meaning a balance among experience, technical precision, and innovation.
Carlo Giussani founded the fabric mill in the current factory. With the support of a few collaborators and shuttle frames, it started production. Initially, it was dedicated to home and community fabrics, entrusting the preparation and bleaching phases to third parties.
During the Second World War, the company specialised in the production of technical fabrics for the armed forces: backpacks, tents and suitcase bags. Growing demand leads to a first renewal of the machine fleet.
Having become a consolidated reality in the fabric sector, Tessitura Fratelli Giussani expands its production department to reach its current size.
The dyeing department was born: weaving became vertically integrated. Thus began a new phase of research on innovative finishes to propose increasingly high-performance fabrics.
Tessitura Fratelli Giussani established itself as a reliable supplier to the Public Administration (Ministry of Defence and Ministry of the Interior). They expanded their offering to include fabrics for sportswear and fashion accessories.
The company transforms into a joint-stock company, laying the foundations for a structured and future-oriented expansion.
ISO 9001 certification is obtained, officially confirming the excellence of the production processes.
It's time for new investments in weaving and finishing, now with a focus on innovation and sustainability. The water purification system and the smoke abatement system are updated.
Tessitura Fratelli Giussani implements a further modernisation of its plants: renovation of the frame room and strengthening of the finishing department, in view of the new challenges of the global market.
The company turns one hundred years old. A new automated warehouse is inaugurated and a latest generation warp machine is introduced. It is a fundamental and symbolic moment that marks the beginning of a new growth cycle, led by a renewed team ready to develop innovative products for the Italian and foreign markets.
L’azienda compie cento anni.
